This is continuous recruitment which will be used to establish an ongoing hiring consideration list for future hiring purposes.
Under the supervision of the Teacher or designee, the Teacher Aide will assist with the preparation and presentation of the daily plan of activities for the children and generally help in all teaching and center related activities. This includes, but is not limited to: curriculum implementation, coordinating volunteers in the classroom, promotion of a positive self-image for each child and the assurance of the safety of all children. This is a modified-traditional position. This position is scheduled to work approximately 30 hours per week/6 hours a day. State of California Child Development Permit preferred.
High School Diploma or GED; Minimum twelve (12) Child Development units to include the core courses, indicated on the Child Development Permit Matrix.
Minimum of One (1) year paid or volunteer experience working in a toddler or preschool classroom environment.
Must be at least 18 years of age. Excellent oral and written skills. Pass a physical examination and tuberculin test and meet the State of California immunization requirement for employees of day care centers, immunization proof against influenza, pertussis and measles. Fingerprint clearance, criminal record, and sex offender registry check required. Verification of current driver's license and insurance required for personal car usage. State of California Child Development Permit preferred.
