About This Role:

The Prince William County Tax Administration Office is seeking a highly motivated Financial Regulatory Technician to fill a Taxpayer Services Specialist position for our Front Counter. The ideal candidate must be a positive, innovative team player who can provide professional support to a diverse customer base. As a key member of our team, you will assist taxpayers with general inquiries, answer tax questions based on the VA Code and Related Laws, accept payments, and help open, update, and close various tax accounts. You will also process tax-related documents and provide accurate information on personal property, real estate, business licenses, and other tax matters. This role is in-office and is not eligible for telework.

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or G.E.D.

Preferences:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • 2 years of cash handling experience.
  • 2 years of data entry experience.
  • Experience working in the public sector.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple computer software programs at one time.
  • Experience handling confidential information.
  • Ability to answer tax questions, collection questions, and business questions based on state and local laws and state and local regulations, codes, and ordinances.

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8:30 pm to 5:00 pm - 37.5 hours per week. During busy periods, you may need to work beyond your scheduled time.

Location - Manassas, Sudley North Government Building

Special Requirements:

The selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment background check.

Hiring Salary Range: $26.00 - $30.00 Hourly, dependent upon experience
