    Description

    As a Tax Supervisor, you will work in-person as part of a team of professionals who are committed to delivering quality service. The responsibilities as a Tax Supervisor will include, but are not limited to:

    • Prepare and review individual, fiduciary, corporate and partnership tax returns including multi-state returns.
    • Focus on advanced aspects of ASC 740 including accounting for business combinations and other purchase transactions and stock compensation under ASC 718
    • Perform an in-depth look at Form 990 and all related schedules.
    • Prepare financial statements including footnotes and management letters.
    • Advise the sale of an interest in a partnership or LLC.
    • Work on adjustments to basis of partnership/LLC assets
    • Knowledgeable of advanced distribution rules
    • Perform allocation of income under Section 704(b)
    • Understanding of U.S. withholding taxes on foreign business and types of IRS audits
    • Contribute to the RAR: Revenue Adjustment Report
    • Effectively present information and respond to questions from partners, managers, clients, and the public.
    • Identify and communicate accounting matters to managers and partners.
    • Assist in training staff through formal and informal mentoring.
    • Scheduling, delegating, and managing jobs and tasks to staff members.
    • Effectively communicate with other employees, partners and clients
    • Resolve moderate issues if Junior and Senior staff without need for manager/partner
    • Attend a networking event once a month.
    • Learn and uphold the Firm’s expectations for work quality and professional development as well as the Firm’s cultural and core values.
    • Follow the progress of engagements and helps to identify and research accounting and auditing issues as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 5-8 years of experience in public accounting experience working in asmall to mid-sized firm is preferred
    • Working to obtain or have already obtained the CPA designation.
    • General knowledge of accounting principles and/or regulations impacting each engagement or project, financial markets, analysis, and reporting of financial data.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
    • Proficient in QuickBooks; Familiar with Thomson Reuters software.
    • Candidates must be detail-oriented, self-starters, and demonstrate excellent computer, analytical and effective communication skills.
    • Transportation with the ability to travel to client sites.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
