Overview

A regional tax, assurance and consulting CPA firm is seeking a Tax Senior for its Real Estate Group in the Charlotte area. You will provide tax services to individual and business clients in the real estate sector, prepare and review intermediate-level returns, oversee and delegate assignments, and mentor associates. Flexible work schedules are offered.

Responsibilities

• Apply tax knowledge to intermediate-level flow-through returns and all levels of individual returns
• Review basic tax return engagements and perform complete, efficient reviews of individual and business returns while guiding staff
• Analyze business transactions and gather data from clients, the audit department and third-party sources
• Perform tax research to identify alternatives that meet client objectives
• Resolve open items on assigned engagements, monitor engagement budgets and seek efficiencies
• Direct concurrent assignments to completion and become a subject-matter expert in one or more technical areas
• Teach, develop and oversee staff, delegate tasks and provide timely constructive feedback
• Identify additional service opportunities with existing clients

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• 2+ years of recent public accounting experience
• CPA or significant progress toward certification
• Real estate experience preferred but not required
• Ability to prepare and/or review a complete set of financial statements
• Strong oral and written communication, analytical, problem-solving and time management skills
