Overview

A leading national middle-market professional services firm is seeking a Tax Senior Manager for its private company tax practice, with McLean, Virginia among the listed offices. The team focuses on closely held businesses and their owners, and may also support ultra-high net worth individuals and small family offices, taking a holistic approach to business and tax planning across the business life cycle. Hybrid work.

Responsibilities

• Advise business owner clients on a full spectrum of business and tax opportunities, including succession planning, wealth transfer planning and tax compliance
• Manage and oversee the engagement team on partnership, S corporation or C corporation, individual and fiduciary taxation, including planning and execution of engagements
• Collaborate with specialists on estate and gift planning, state and local taxation and international taxation
• Drive growth opportunities with existing clients and prospects alongside senior leadership
• Develop and sustain strong relationships with clients and other professional advisors
• Some travel may be required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting or a business-related field
• Active CPA license in state of residence, Enrolled Agent or attorney license
• 7+ years of public accounting experience with an emphasis on taxation, including recent experience managing client engagements
• Proficient in entity (partnership, S corporation or C corporation) and individual taxation
• Familiar with fiduciary, gift and estate taxation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• LL.M. or master's in taxation preferred
