Tax Preparer (Seasonal Contract)
Location: Shoreview, MN, Hybrid Work Model
Employment Type: W-2 Contract Consultant
Compensation: $40 - $75/hr DOE
Our Client
Our client is a highly respected financial planning and wealth management firm that provides integrated tax, retirement, investment, insurance, and estate planning services. They are seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to support a busy and growing client base during the 2027 tax season.
What You'll Be Doing
- Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals and small businesses
- Conduct client intake meetings and gather tax documentation
- Review completed returns with clients and answer questions
- Prepare:
- Form 1040 returns
- Schedule C returns
- Partnership returns (1065)
- S-Corporation returns (1120-S)
- K-1s
- Estate and trust returns, as needed
- Identify deductions, credits, and tax planning opportunities
- Electronically file returns and manage extensions
- Collaborate with tax specialists and financial advisors on complex situations
What We're Looking For
- Active Enrolled Agent (EA) required
- CPA preferred
- Active PTIN in good standing
- 3+ years of professional tax preparation experience
- Experience preparing both individual and small business returns
- Ability to independently manage a high-volume workload during tax season
- Strong client-facing communication skills
- Experience with professional tax software such as Drake, Lacerte, UltraTax, or ProSeries
