    Description

This role supports a client seeking a tax leader who can strengthen compliance, improve processes, and support scalable growth through acquisitions and evolving corporate structures.

    Summary

    This role is responsible for managing corporate tax compliance and supporting broader tax strategy within a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization. The Tax Manager will oversee federal and state income tax filings, support tax planning initiatives, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations while driving process improvement through technology and automation. This position also involves mentoring staff, supporting audits, and partnering cross-functionally to ensure accurate and efficient tax reporting.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare and review federal and state corporate income tax returns, including consolidated and unitary filings

    • Support tax planning initiatives and corporate tax structure reporting, including Form 1120-S calculations

    • Review and resolve tax discrepancies and communicate with federal and state tax authorities as needed

    • Assist with fiduciary and individual tax returns, estimates, and related filings when required

    • Support federal and state tax audits by preparing documentation and ensuring compliance

    • Analyze corporate and shareholder data to identify tax planning opportunities and risk areas

    • Conduct technical tax research and document positions in alignment with current tax laws

    • Interpret and apply federal, state, and local tax regulations to ensure compliance and efficiency

    • Support post-acquisition tax integration for newly acquired entities

    • Identify tax efficiencies related to corporate structure and acquisitions

    • Evaluate and improve tax processes for accuracy, scalability, and automation

    • Leverage tax technology platforms such as OneSource and RIA Checkpoint

    • Partner with Accounting, Legal, Construction, and Supply Chain teams on tax-related matters

    • Support tax leadership in maintaining governance and best-in-class tax operations

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

    • 5+ years of corporate income tax experience (federal and state compliance)

    • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax regulations

    • Experience preparing or reviewing corporate and consolidated tax returns

    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office

    • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills

    • Ability to manage high-volume tax deadlines in a fast-paced environment

    • High attention to detail and accuracy in compliance work
