We are seeking an experienced, full-time remote Tax Manager to join our growing firm.This position offers the opportunity to work directly with firm leadership and clients, take meaningful responsibility for client engagements, and contribute to a close-knit team while working remotely in a certified public accounting firm.Our mission is to make our clients' lives better through technology-driven, personalized accounting and tax services. We primarily serve closely held professional service businesses and their owners, as well as individuals, trusts, and estates. Experience in a small or mid-sized public accounting firm is highly valued.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare complex individual, business, estate, and trust income tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1120-S, 1065, 1120, and 1041Manage and review individual, business, estate, and trust income tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1120-S, 1065, 1120, and 1041Prepare and review individual, business, estate, and trust income tax return projectionsManage multiple client engagements and maintain proactive client communicationResearch complex federal and state income tax issues and develop practical solutionsIdentify and communicate tax planning opportunities and recommendations to clientsReview financial statements and accounting records, including income tax basis financial statementsMentor and provide technical guidance to staff and senior accountantsAssist with workflow planning, process improvement, and engagement profitabilityStay current with changes in federal and state tax laws and communicate relevant developments to clients and staffQualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, or related field requiredActive CPA or EA license required7+ years of progressive public accounting experience, including substantial tax preparation and review experienceStrong technical knowledge of individual, S corporation, partnership, estate, and trust taxationExperience preparing and reviewing Form 1041 estate and trust income tax returnsStrong tax research, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and OutlookExperience with Lacerte, QuickBooks Online, and other tax and accounting software is a plusIdeal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a knowledgeable, dependable, detail-oriented, and proactive tax professional who enjoys working directly with clients, researching tax topics, providing practical tax advice, and helping develop less-experienced team members.If you are an experienced CPA or EA looking for an opportunity to grow your career with a supportive, technology-forward CPA firm, we would like to hear from you.Apply today using our quick, mobile-friendly application.
