Description

Kforce's client, a well-established firm located in the Quincy, MA area, is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead client engagements, oversee tax department activities, and deliver high-quality tax compliance, planning, and advisory services. This position is hybrid and ideal for a licensed CPA with strong technical tax expertise, proven leadership experience, and the ability to manage complex client relationships. The client offers salary, benefits, great team culture events, work/life balance and other company perks. Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and review tax returns, extensions, planning calculations, and related deliverables prepared by tax staff
  • Review complex federal and multistate tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, fiduciaries, nonprofit organizations, estates, and trusts
  • Prepare and review tax-planning projections for individual and business clients
  • Oversee client engagements, deadlines, workflow, and overall service quality
  • Research complex tax matters and prepare technical memoranda documenting findings and recommendations
  • Manage federal, state, and local tax audits, notices, and inquiries
  • Delegate engagements based on staff capabilities, workload, and development needs
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to tax professionals
  • Communicate directly with clients, firm leadership, colleagues, and taxing authorities
  • Support business-development activities, including prospective-client meetings, proposals, fee quotes, and needs assessments
  • Help improve departmental software use, processes, and workflows
  • Participate in consulting engagements and special projects as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree in taxation preferred
  • 10 or more years of current tax experience within public accounting
  • Active CPA license required
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and developing tax professionals
  • Experience handling tax audits and responding to taxing-authority notices
  • Experience serving high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses
  • Strong knowledge of individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, nonprofit, estate, gift, and multistate taxation
  • Proficiency with professional tax research and preparation software; Experience with ProSystem and BNA is preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project-management skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and client-service abilities
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Collaborative leadership style with a commitment to teamwork and staff development
  • International or foreign tax experience is preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
