    ABOUT THE ROLE

    A leading global alternative asset manager is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Tax to support a sophisticated multi-asset investment platform. This role provides broad exposure across investment partnership taxation, fund tax compliance, tax structuring, allocations, and domestic and international tax matters.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong public accounting foundation serving hedge fund, private equity, or alternative asset management clients, with significant exposure to partnership taxation.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Review book-to-tax calculations, tax allocations, federal and state tax returns, and Schedule K-1s.
    • Support tax compliance across investment and feeder fund structures, including partnerships, corporations, and other investment vehicles.
    • Coordinate with fund accounting, financial reporting, external tax advisors, and third-party administrators.
    • Review investment activity and identify potential tax implications associated with acquisitions and dispositions.
    • Support new fund and product launches, including tax structuring and modeling.
    • Analyze investment and trading activity for tax adjustments, including wash sales, constructive sales, and straddles.
    • Research complex domestic and international tax matters.
    • Support federal, state, and international tax audits and respond to tax authority inquiries.
    • Assist with tax matters related to co-investment and other investment products.
    • Respond to investor and Limited Partner tax inquiries and due diligence requests.
    • Partner with Finance and other internal teams on tax-related initiatives.
    • Identify tax risks and opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
    • Approximately 3 7+ years of relevant tax experience.
    • Strong public accounting background, ideally from a Big 4 or other large national accounting firm.
    • Experience serving hedge funds, private equity funds, or alternative asset management clients.
    • Strong investment partnership and partnership tax experience preferred.
    • Experience with tax allocations, K-1s, and investment fund structures.
    • Understanding of federal and multi-state tax compliance.
    • CPA or advanced degree preferred.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with complex financial and tax data.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced investment environment.
