Location: Tysons Corner, VA (or Columbia, MD)

Overview

A national accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Private Client Services Tax Manager for its Tysons Corner, Virginia office (Columbia, Maryland also considered). You will take a lead role on all aspects of tax engagements, supervise and mentor staff, and build and maintain client relationships. Hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Review individual, trust, partnership and corporate tax returns prepared by staff and seniors
• Research and draft memos on complex tax matters
• Identify and implement tax planning opportunities
• Handle and resolve tax controversies
• Oversee tax research projects for a variety of clients and industries
• Manage multiple engagements concurrently to meet client deadlines
• Counsel team members and serve as an instructor in professional development programs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA license, JD or master's in taxation
• 5+ years in a public accounting tax department, leading multiple engagements and supervising staff
• Excellent analytical and technical tax skills
• Exceptional client service and communication skills
• Strong leadership, training and mentoring skills
