We are on the hunt for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Permanent Tax Manager to join our thriving Accounting and Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of high net worth clients, and should have a strong background in tax planning, preparation, and review.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Tax Manager, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Managing and overseeing all aspects of tax compliance for a portfolio of high net worth clients.
2. Reviewing complex tax returns including federal and multi-state returns for C Corporations, S Corporations, partnerships, high net worth individuals, trusts & estates, and foundations.
3. Conducting detailed 1120S, 1031 exchange, and real estate tax reviews.
4. Utilizing your expertise in CCH to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax preparation and planning.
5. Assisting clients with effective tax planning strategies, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
6. Providing leadership, supervision, training, and performance feedback to staff and seniors.
7. Participating in business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and cross-selling the firm's services.
8. Staying updated with changing tax laws and explaining these changes to the team and clients.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Taxation is a plus.
2. Active CPA license or EA designation is required.
3. A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in public accounting or a related field.
4. Extensive experience in dealing with high net worth clients, tax planning, and tax return review.
5. Proven expertise in 1120S, 1031 Exchange, S Corp, and real estate tax.
6. Proficiency in using CCH for tax preparation and planning.
7. Exceptional leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and mentoring a team.
8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and team members.
9. Excellent problem-solving skills, with a knack for providing practical solutions to complex tax issues.
10. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
11. Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest tax laws and regulations.
