Description

Job Description: Tax Manager | Miami Lakes | $120k to $155k+ Imagine being able to spend most of your day actually doing the work you were hired to do. Managing clients, reviewing returns, advising businesses. Rather than getting bogged down in preparation work, data entry and endless admin. That's one of the things I really like about this opportunity. This smaller CPA firm in Miami Lakes has an offshore team handling much of the preparation and administrative work, leaving you free to focus on reviewing, managing engagements and building relationships with clients. And they're busy. So busy, in fact, that they're turning clients away because they don't have enough people to take on the work. I've already helped a Senior Tax Accountant join this firm, and they've been really happy with the move. Better work life balance, more flexibility around their hours and a team they've settled into quickly. The Partners have a pretty straightforward approach to flexibility. Look after your clients, get your work done and support the team when needed, and they'll give you that same flexibility when life outside work gets busy. Busy season typically peaks at around 50 hours, and while you'll initially be office based for the first six months, there's scope for more flexibility once you're established. What they're looking for: CPA with strong recent Public Accounting tax experience Strong UltraTax experience Extensive review experience across 1040, 1065, 1120S and K1s Experience working with HNW individuals, business owners and closely held businesses Some international tax exposure would be beneficial Confidence managing client relationships, budgets and engagements independently You'll receive a 401(k) with safe harbour match, fully paid employee health, dental and vision insurance, GAP insurance, PTO, major holidays off and a Christmas shutdown. It's a small team, so you'll need to enjoy working closely with others and occasionally getting stuck in when needed. But you'll also have the autonomy to manage your own clients and make decisions without unnecessary layers of approval. If you've reached a point where you'd rather spend your time advising clients than preparing their returns, this could be a very welcome change. Interested? Click apply and I'll be in touch. No resume ready? Connect with me on LinkedIn (Ellie Butler at Distinct North America) or call/text 786-937-0959 for a confidential chat. Don't tick every box? Still get in touch. We work with CPA firms across Florida and beyond, so if this role isn't quite right, another one might be.
