This role is with a well-established, highly respected CPA firm on Long Island that has served clients for over 35 years. Their partners came up through international and national firms, and they pair that big firm quality with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach. Clients range from Fortune 500 companies to family-owned businesses, and the firm offers tax, audit and assurance, and consulting services.
The firm is growing its tax team and hiring at the Senior through Manager level. Title and pay will be based on experience. This is a fully in-office role in Melville with a stable, close-knit team, real client exposure, and room to grow.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals
- Compute quarterly tax estimates, maintain general ledger tax accounts, and handle income tax provisions
- Research complex tax issues and identify planning opportunities to reduce client tax liabilities
- Review workpapers and deliverables prepared by staff accountants and junior team members
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients on compliance and planning questions
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s in Taxation is a plus)
- 3 to 5+ years of public or corporate tax experience
- CPA license or active CPA candidacy strongly preferred
- Experience reviewing the work of others or mentoring junior staff
- Strong research skills and comfort working across multiple entity types
