This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Tax Manager who enjoys serving as a trusted advisor to clients - not just preparing tax returns. The firm values long-term client relationships, technical excellence, and a collaborative culture while offering a clear path for continued professional growth and future partnership.

For the right individual, this position offers a genuine opportunity to grow into a Partner-level role and play an increasingly important part in the firm's long-term success.

This individual will work directly with business owners, executives, and high-net-worth individuals to provide strategic tax guidance, answer sophisticated tax questions, and build lasting relationships based on trust and exceptional service.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with outstanding communication skills and the confidence to advise clients on complex tax matters in a practical, down-to-earth manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex tax planning and compliance engagements for individuals and businesses.
  • Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, S-corporation, fiduciary, and trust tax returns.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor by interpreting complex tax regulations and recommending practical solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive, consultative service.

  • Review work prepared by staff and provide mentoring, technical guidance, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with partners to ensure exceptional client service and identify opportunities for additional tax and advisory services.
  • Contribute to the firm's continued growth and development with the potential to assume greater leadership responsibilities over time.

Required Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of progressive public accounting experience, with significant experience managing complex tax engagements and serving as a trusted advisor to clients.
  • CPA license strongly preferred; a Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting will also be considered.
  • Extensive experience preparing and reviewing 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S, and 1041 tax returns.
  • Strong background serving high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses.
  • Demonstrated experience with proactive tax planning and advisory services, in addition to tax compliance.
  • Excellent client-facing, relationship management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex tax matters clearly, practically, and confidently.
  • Experience reviewing the work of other tax professionals and providing technical guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience advising real estate investors and professional service firms.
  • Estate and trust tax experience.
  • IRS representation experience.
  • Leadership, mentoring, or staff development experience.
  • Experience managing an established portfolio of client relationships.
  • Interest and ability to grow into a broader leadership role within a CPA firm.

What We're Looking For

Beyond technical expertise, we're seeking someone who naturally builds trust with clients. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, highly consultative, personable, and confident communicating with executives, business owners, and high-net-worth individuals.

This opportunity is particularly well suited for a seasoned tax professional who wants more than another Tax Manager position. The firm is looking for someone who can become an important long-term member of the organization, deepen existing client relationships, contribute to the development of other professionals, and take on increasing leadership responsibility over time.

For the right candidate, there is a genuine path toward future partnership.

If you're looking for more than another tax season - and want to join a firm where relationships, quality, long-term growth, and the opportunity for partnership matter - we'd welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
