ENFIN is a financial services company that provides financing for residential solar PV customers. We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to support the accounting and tax functions of our growing renewable energy business. This role will play a critical part in managing tax compliance, reporting, and structuring activities related to residential solar assets and financing arrangements. This position can be based in San Francisco, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the implementation of sales tax automation, including deployment of Avalara, integration with NetSuite and Launch, and development of processes to automate billing and apply applicable sales tax to customer transactions.
Establish and manage the company’s indirect tax compliance framework, including sales tax registrations across applicable jurisdictions and oversight of ongoing sales and use tax return filings.
Manage property tax compliance, including coordination of multi-state filings and collaboration with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Manage the annual ASC 740 income tax provision, including deferred tax calculations, effective tax rate analysis, return-to-provision adjustments, and preparation of tax disclosures for financial statements.
Oversee U.S. federal and multi-state corporate income tax compliance, including coordination with external advisors on tax return preparation, extension filings, and estimated tax payments.
Support tax structuring and compliance for financing entities and special purpose vehicles (SPVs) used in loan and financing transactions.
Oversee tax matters for multiple related entities, including tax accounting, federal and state income tax compliance, indirect tax obligations, and coordination with external advisors.
Monitor state nexus and filing requirements and ensure the company maintains compliance with evolving multi-state tax regulations.
Coordinate and manage external tax advisors and consultants, including reviewing deliverables, tracking project budgets, and ensuring timely completion of tax-related engagements.
Drive process improvements and automation initiatives across the tax function to enhance efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and improve tax reporting accuracy.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related areas with a minimum of 8+ years of professional work experience including 5+ years of progressive tax, tax accounting, and finance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working with ERP systems and databases.
Ability to execute in a dynamic, fast-paced, and demanding environment.
Ability to influence the company and interact at all levels.
Knowledge of accounting for Residential Solar Assets, including construction, leases, and PPA agreements, is preferred.
Knowledge of federal income tax, state income tax, state and local taxes, and investment tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act is preferred.
Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
Strong knowledge of tax law and tax accounting under US GAAP.
Strong excel, data sorting, and manipulation skills required including mastery of pivot tables, lookups, and power query.
Professional presence and ability to lead teams and influence others.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment under strict deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems.

Experience with NetSuite
Experience in the financial services or banking industries, including with ABS transactions, AFS Loan Assets, IR Hedges and related accounting.
Accounting and data automation, including macros experience.
