We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Tax Manager to join our growing Accounting and Finance team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned tax professional to make a significant impact within a well-established and innovative organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax accounting functions, including planning, compliance, and audit. This role requires a strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as a deep knowledge of accounting principles and practices. The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the preparation and review of corporate federal, state, and local income tax returns and estimates.
2. Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies.
3. Manage audits by tax authorities and coordinate with legal counsel as needed.
4. Review and approve tax-related journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
5. Keep abreast of current developments in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify potential impact on the organization.
6. Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
7. Collaborate with other departments to provide tax expertise, ensuring accurate financial reporting and strategic planning.
8. Manage and maintain the company’s tax database and related software.
9. Provide input on tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is highly preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager or similar role within the accounting and finance industry.
3. Proficient knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance, and all types of tax returns.
4. Strong understanding of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
5. Familiarity with financial accounting statements and experience with tax-related software.
6. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
7. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
8. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax information clearly and concisely.
9. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
10. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
