    Tax Manager

    Hartford County, CT (Hybrid)   |   Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 + Bonus   |   Full-Time

    Job Summary

    We're looking to add a Tax Manager to lead engagements, mentor rising talent, and deepen client relationships within its tax practice. You'll partner closely with firm leadership and other partners across a flexible team structure, with real say in how work and people are managed rather than being boxed into a single fixed pod.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Review complex tax returns for businesses and individuals
    • Partner with clients on tax planning strategies
    • Advise clients on business matters and general retirement planning
    • Coach, train, and evaluate Seniors and staff
    • Manage a portfolio of client relationships and keep engagements on schedule
    • Work with firm leadership on staffing decisions and workflow planning

     

    Qualifications

    • 7+ years of tax experience within a public accounting firm with active CPA
    • A track record of career stability rather than frequent job changes
    • Strong leadership presence and a strong work ethic
    • Demonstrated ability to deliver high level planning, consulting, and technical guidance to clients
    • Sharp problem-solving skills and good judgment under deadline pressure
    • Comfortable with tax software and MS Office
    • Adaptable and professional working across partners, managers, and staff in a flexible team structure
