Location: Sacramento, CA (or San Francisco / Walnut Creek, CA)

Overview

A national professional services firm is seeking a Tax Manager or Director for its Northern California tax practice, based in Sacramento (San Francisco and Walnut Creek also considered). This role consults with clients on succession and tax planning, leads and reviews tax engagements, and develops team members. Real estate industry experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients on business processes such as succession and tax planning
• Lead, schedule, supervise and review tax engagements
• Develop and train team members
• Perform a range of tax procedures based on the size and complexity of each engagement
• Attend industry events and trainings and build industry expertise
• Review complex individual and corporate tax returns

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
• 6+ years of experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm
• CPA required (EA or JD may be accepted in lieu of CPA)
• Real estate industry experience highly preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to help clients and team members succeed
