Our firm is seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Tax Manager to join our Accounting + Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity that offers a rich blend of tax planning and advisory work. You will be working closely with high net worth individuals, corporations, and physicians' practices. You will have the chance to display your expertise in Federal & State Tax, S Corp, and Income Tax. If you are passionate about tax returns and have a knack for strategic tax planning, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
1. Provide comprehensive tax planning and preparation of federal and state income taxes for corporations, S corp, and high net worth individuals.
2. Manage and maintain relationships with clients, offering tax planning solutions and advice tailored to their unique needs and circumstances.
3. Collaborate with physicians' practices on tax matters, providing expert guidance and advice.
4. Review tax returns prepared by staff, ensuring accuracy, and compliance with the tax law.
5. Research and consult on various tax matters; utilize tax-related software to prepare and process returns and research tax matters.
6. Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies and assist in tax audits.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including new filing practices, deadlines, and any company-specific information.
8. Contribute to firm growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and building lasting relationships with clients.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA, Enrolled Agent, or Member of the Bar is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional services firm providing tax planning services or corporate tax department.
3. Proven experience working with high net worth individuals, corporations, and physicians' practices.
4. Proficient in Federal & State Tax, S Corp, and Income Tax.
5. Demonstrated skills in preparing tax returns and strategic tax planning.
6. Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships.
7. Strong leadership, business development, recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
8. Comprehensive understanding of tax law and statutory regulations.
9. Proficient with tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
10. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work on multiple assignments simultaneously.
11. Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
12. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
