Position Overview

As a Tax Credit Leasing Consultant, you will serve as the first point of contact for prospective and current residents while ensuring compliance with affordable housing regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of tax credit programs, income certifications, recertifications, and housing compliance requirements.

Your ability to build relationships, maintain accurate documentation, and guide applicants through the leasing process will be essential to your success.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct apartment tours and showcase community amenities
• Respond to leasing inquiries by phone, email, and in person
• Process rental applications and supporting documentation
• Verify income, assets, and household eligibility
• Complete move-in, move-out, and renewal paperwork
• Manage annual recertifications and interim recertifications
• Maintain compliance with LIHTC and affordable housing regulations
• Ensure resident files are complete, accurate, and audit-ready
• Assist with marketing and resident retention initiatives
• Deliver outstanding customer service to prospective and current residents
• Maintain accurate records within property management software systems

Required Qualifications

Must Have:

• Previous leasing consultant experience
• Affordable housing and Tax Credit (LIHTC) experience
• Knowledge of income certifications and recertifications
• Understanding of compliance requirements and housing regulations
• Strong administrative and organizational skills
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Section 8, HUD, or other affordable housing programs
• Yardi, OneSite, RealPage, or similar property management software experience
• Fair Housing knowledge and training
• Bilingual skills are a plus
