Tax Analyst ProgrammerOnly qualified Tax Analyst Programmer candidates located near San Diego, CA will be considered due to the position requiring an on-site presence. Required Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field. Preferred Education: MS in Accounting, MIS or Taxation and/or MBA highly desirable. Preferred Certification: Certification in a tax-related field is highly desirable; Enrolled Agent and/or CPA is preferred.Required Skills:3-7 years of income tax preparation or analysis experiencePrevious in-depth utilization of tax preparation software is highly preferred (3-5+ years)Strong understanding of federal and state taxation, preferably in multiple tax categories: Individual, business, non-profit, estates and trusts, etc. (3-5+ years)Strong business analysis skills demonstrating strong business acumenAptitude/ability to learn tax content development programming skillsPositive "change agent" mindsets: leadership, optimism, innovation, continuous improvement of work processesExhibits continuous learning approaches w/ expanding influenceConsultative, customer-focused approach to problem solvingDemonstrates increasingly influential product leadership and decision-making skillsAbility to partner across teams and functions, and influence across boundariesHighly organized with strong attention to detailSuperior computer skills, including proficiency in moderate to complex operations utilized in spreadsheet programs or other common computer applicationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDuties:Tax Analyst Programmers develop requirements that are used to gather tax data, calculate tax scenarios and validate that the tax software complies with tax authority regulations.
