    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    The Domestic Tax Analyst contributes to Owens Corning's success by assisting with the preparation of required tax filings, tax research, projects, planning and audits to ensure compliance with tax laws and minimize the overall tax liabilities for both US Indirect (sales/use, property) and Income Taxes. The Tax Department leadership is committed to training and mentoring team members in a wide variety of tax issues, facilitating the professional and technical development of each team member.     JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    Knowing Our Businesses and their Strategies

    • Build relationships within the functional organization, and the cross functional organization
    • Understand and be able to articulate the objectives of the organization
    • Understand our customers, business channels and the unique challenges and needs of each

    Executing Strategy

    • Leverage technology to prepare and review monthly data reports in support of the Indirect Tax compliance process across multiple jurisdictions
    • Assist in the identification, evaluation, implementation and ongoing maintenance of tax technology solutions
    • Assist in responding to US federal and state and local tax audit inquiries and jurisdictional tax notices
    • Ensure correct collection and archiving of customer exemption and resale documentation
    • Review transactions for tax implications related to sales/use and property tax impact
    • Support the quarterly and year-end US income tax provision process by performing assigned tasks
    • Support tax planning, special projects, and other tax related work as needed
    • Collaborates with the Business Units and Global Tax personnel as well as cross-functional departments
    • Performing tax technical research as necessary to support the Company's tax positions

    • Inspires and actively participates in cross-functional teamwork to maximize the performance of the tax function
    • Communicates clearly and consistently with global finance and tax leaders to strengthen collaboration across the finance organization; encourages and contributes to sharing new ideas and process improvements to enhance all aspects of the tax function

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

    • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related area required; CPA certification preferred
    • At least 2 years relevant tax/public accounting experience required
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; advanced Excel preferred

    EXPERIENCE

    • Basic introductory level understanding of income and non-income taxes.
    • Experienced in working with complex, automated spreadsheets linking to ERP data and other supporting systems

    KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

    • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently in a fast-paced environment
    • Understanding of tax law; ability to research tax topics to stay current on changes in tax law
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Highly organized and resourceful, ensuring accuracy and efficiency; able to plan effectively to manage multiple priorities
    • Ability to anticipate challenges and proactively mitigate obstacles
    • Strong collaboration and influencing skills; capable of working credibly and effectively with cross-functional tax and finance teams
    • Proven ability to drive results and meet deadlines
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Continuous improvement mindset leading to evaluation of existing operational processes and application of data transformation to streamline workflows
    • Minimal travel may be required; 0-5%
