    A dynamic and growing accounting firm is seeking a highly motivated Tax Accountant (CPA) to join its client-focused team. This role is ideal for a CPA who enjoys hands-on tax work, strong client relationships, and working in a collaborative environment that values modern, cloud-based accounting. The firm specializes in helping small businesses and entrepreneurs make smarter tax decisions with proactive planning and compliance support.


    Key Responsibilities


    ·      Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and small businesses

    ·      Conduct proactive tax planning and strategy sessions for clients throughout the year

    ·      Research complex tax issues and communicate findings to clients in a clear, business-friendly manner

    ·      Collaborate with bookkeeping and advisory teams to ensure seamless client service

    ·      Stay up to date with changes in federal, state, and local tax laws

    ·      Support clients during IRS or state audits when necessary

    ·      Use cloud-based tax and accounting software to efficiently manage workflow and client data


    Qualifications


    ·      Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required

    ·      3+ years of public accounting or tax preparation experience

    ·      Strong knowledge of federal and Illinois state tax codes

    ·      Experience with small business clients preferred

    ·      Proficiency with cloud-based accounting and tax software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero, ProConnect, Drake, etc.)

    ·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    ·      Ability to work independently and as part of a remote or hybrid team
