Our  Human Resources Department / Talent Acquisition team is seeking an experienced talent acquisition specialist to join the team. This position is responsible for providing administrative oversight through the full lifecycle of the staffing/recruitment process, post to hire, and is relied upon to assist hiring managers throughout the search and selection process for  branch/commercial banking, and assigned support, sales, professional, technical and other niche skilled positions,  employing traditional sourcing techniques and resources, as well as developing new and creative recruiting ideas, while acting as a proactive service partner to hiring managers.

This position is full time and fully on-site at the Southern Operations Center in Tacoma, WA. Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.


Base Salary Range: 

$30.12 - $37.64 - $45.18 hourly


Role at a Glance:

  • Assists hiring managers with the completion of staffing requisitions/approvals via JIRA / HR Service Desk. Gathers relevant information to effectively create appropriate job postings, and provides guidance with general recruitment and selection questions, applicant sourcing, and interviewing/selection process.
  • Proactively source and identifies active and passive candidates leveraging a wide variety of tools and techniques (social media, search engines, opt ins, and job boards) to build and maintain a quality and diverse pipeline of potential qualified applicants. 
  • Reviews and qualifies applicants based on application / resume, experience, pre-screening assessments, and or reference verification tools. As requested, may participate in phone screens and interviews.
  • Conducts regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans, implementation and candidate dispositions. Guides managers through initial hiring and onboarding process.
  • Identifies, plans and attends networking activities such as on-site and virtual career / job fairs, professional associations, technical schools and outplacement services, etc.
  • Provides feedback and hiring information to all applicants to ensure a positive candidate experience regardless of selection decision.
  • Develops and maintains activity reports highlighting search progress, time to fill, disposition of job postings, hiring manager response time and candidate selection.
  • Partners with external staffing / recruiting agencies and serves as a liaison for temporary staffing needs. Maintains and updates procedures, tracking reports, and timely communications with department managers.
  • Prepares and compiles a variety of HR related analytical, standard and ad hoc reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools, while maintaining system and data integrity.
  • Assists with development and maintenance of desk procedures, practitioner and user  guides, in a timely and accurate manner. 
  • Gains working knowledge and understanding to assist with S.A.F.E. Act compliance activities and provides back up support as a designated representative in the NMLS Registry to ensure all Bank employees requiring registration are registered timely and accurately, and properly renewed on an annual basis.
  • Assists with maintenance and updates to the web-based job descriptions / repository. Process and follow up on active / inactive workflows and job description acknowledgements.
  • Supports and assts with compliance and administration of Labor Law posters for all bank locations, and remains current on the company’s organization structure, human resources policies / procedures, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices. 
  • Contributes to the success of the department with willingness to share in all department responsibilities and provide back-up assistance to team members, as required or assigned. 
  • Understands and maintains working knowledge of, and ensures bank activities are performed in compliance with, all state and federal banking laws and regulations applicable to assigned area.

Requirements:   

  • Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in Business Administration, Human Resources or relevant disciplines – preferred.
  • 2 years recent experience in a talent acquisition and/or recruiting support role, demonstrating  working knowledge of the end-to-end full life cycle recruiting process – required. 
  • Experience supporting one or more HR disciplines and working knowledge of HRIS applications and ADP software products such as WFN, within an HR department in a community banking or financial services industry - highly desired. 
  • Professional credentials, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, Talent Management, Social Sourcing, Diversity Recruiting and/or Organizational Development - desired.
  • Equivalent combination of education, certifications and/or relevant recruiting and human resources experience may be considered.
  • Provides an exceptional level of quality service for internal and external customers and responds to customers' needs, questions and concerns in an accurate, effective, and timely manner.
  • Maintains personal composure when confronted with difficult situations, with the ability to gain trust and respect with all levels of staff and management.  Must have the ability to deal calmly and effectively to diffuse and manage sometimes volatile and stressful situations. 
  • Exhibits professional and effective listening, verbal, written and telephone etiquette business communication skills, including effective questioning and presentation skills; with the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well. 
  • Ability to gain working knowledge and understanding of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to Human Resources and governing employment practices, including EEO, FLSA, ADA, OFCCP and other HR related laws and regulations.
  • Client management experience, to gain credibility, presence, and the ability to gain trust and provide consultative services to hiring managers and applicants.
  • Understanding of and ability to and apply principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and polices related to assigned areas.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills, demonstrating analytical reasoning, organization, data review and time management skills, with the ability to accurately  manage multiple assignments, goals, and reporting requests, ensuring  priorities are set and commitments and deadlines are met, with minimal direction and supervision. 
  • Unquestionable integrity and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive and confidential information required.
  • Proficient use and understanding of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT), with the ability to adapt to and learn new technologies quickly and understand report requirements and system capabilities to produce and/or analyze desired reports.
  • Working knowledge of social media networking platforms, online communities, and other job board sourcing channels. 
  • Strong working knowledge and experience using applicant tracking systems (ADP WFN, Taleo, Peoplesoft, /ICIMS, , etc.) – required.  CRM and virtual recruiting tools – highly desired. Knowledge and use of customer service ticketing systems (i.e., JIRA)  experience – strongly preferred.


Working Environment/Conditions:    

  • Climate controlled office environment.  
  • Work involves being able to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions and frequent employee and/or customer contacts and interruptions during the day.
  • Work requires regular attendance, punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon schedule with willingness to work a flexible and/or rotating schedule and or extended hours, and assist at other locations or remotely, as needed.

Physical Demands/Effort:    

  • Work may involve the constant use of computer screens, reading of reports, and sitting throughout the day.
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard, multi-line telephone, photocopier, scanner and facsimile which often requires dexterity of hands and fingers with repetitive wrist and hand motion.
  • Typically sitting at a desk or table; intermittently standing, stooping, bending at the waist, walking, kneeling or crouching to file materials and set up displays.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs. (files, boxes, etc.)
