What you''ll do
You''ll own Tableau dashboards from requirements to production for a customer care analytics team, building on Google BigQuery, administering the Tableau site, and bringing generative AI into how the team designs and prototypes analytics.
- Own end-to-end dashboard delivery: requirements, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards, reports, and visualizations connected to Google BigQuery
- Build and optimize dimensional data models, complex calculated fields, parameters, LOD expressions, and table calculations
- Create reusable templates, style guides, and dashboard frameworks, and optimize workbook performance through extracts, query tuning, and aggregation
- Translate business requirements into technical specs, and create mockups and wireframes after stakeholder meetings to validate direction before full development
- Manage Tableau Server/Online site configuration, user access, permissions, and security; monitor performance and ensure high availability
- Enforce best practices for development, naming, and documentation; manage data sources, schedules, subscriptions, and alerts
- Train and support business users, and set governance policies for publishing, certification, and lifecycle management
- Explore and implement generative AI for analytics and visualization, including AI-assisted dashboard creation, natural language queries, insight generation, and rapid prototyping
- Track AI-powered analytics trends, recommend adoption strategies, and document best practices
What you''ll bring
- Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on Tableau development experience
- 2+ years of Tableau Server/Online administration experience
- 3+ years of experience with Google BigQuery or similar cloud data warehouses
- 3+ years of advanced SQL (complex joins, window functions, CTEs, query optimization)
- 2+ years of experience designing and working with dimensional data models
- Proven experience creating mockups and wireframes for stakeholder review and iterative design
Nice to have
- Experience in customer care/analytics
- Familiarity with the GCP ecosystem
- Knowledge of PII data handling and encryption standards
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum
- Experience with version control (Git) for Tableau workbooks (TabDiff, tabcmd, REST API)
- Familiarity with AI/ML integration in analytics workflows
- Tableau Desktop Specialist or Certified Associate certification
- Experience with Jira for requirements, sprints, and issue tracking
- Familiarity with Superset dashboard development and migration
