Tableau Administrator / Developer
Location: Tysons Corner, VA (Hybrid / Remote)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tableau Administrator / Developer to support the deployment, administration, security, and development of Tableau Server in an enterprise and regulated environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Tableau Server administration, Tableau development, AWS EC2, security/compliance, and SQL. This role requires someone who can work effectively across technical teams, proactively manage dependencies, and drive issues through resolution.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, administer, and maintain Tableau Server, including deployments on AWS EC2 and containerized environments.
• Manage Tableau users, groups, roles, permissions, licenses, Sites, projects, workbooks, and data sources.
• Perform Tableau Server upgrades, patches, monitoring, troubleshooting, backup, and configuration management.
• Support security vulnerability scans, remediation activities, compliance reviews, and ATO/security authorization processes.
• Develop, publish, and maintain Tableau dashboards, reports, and interactive visualizations.
• Connect Tableau to relational databases and develop/optimize SQL queries for reporting and analytics.
• Troubleshoot Tableau, database, authentication, connectivity, security, and performance issues.
• Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, security, DevOps, application, and business teams to manage deployment dependencies and deliver solutions.
• Demonstrate strong ownership, urgency, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive issues through resolution.

 
Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of Tableau experience, including Tableau Server administration and development.
• Hands-on experience deploying and administering Tableau Server.
• Experience deploying or supporting Tableau Server on AWS EC2.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerized environments.
• Strong Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server development experience.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience.
• Experience with authentication, access controls, security, and enterprise environments.
• Experience supporting security scans, remediation, compliance, or ATO activities.
• Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Tableau in Federal Government, FedRAMP, or other regulated environments.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD.
• Experience with enterprise identity and access management.
• Tableau certification such as Tableau Certified Associate or Certified Professional.
• Familiarity with federal security and compliance frameworks.

Compensation:
The expected compensation range for this position is $70,000 - $130,000 annually. Compensation is determined in good faith and may vary based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, clearance level, labor category alignment, contract requirements, work location, internal equity, and business needs.
