    Provide a short description of the Position:
    The candidate will be a guide member of the imaging team which is responsible for developing the shared services and development code generators that are used by all Department of Tax and Finance Applications, including maintaining and modernizing our e-MPIRE imaging platforms. This system is responsible for processing different programs that bring in billions of dollars in revenue for local governments and New York State. Its solution allows New York State to facilitate better decision-making, provide increased productivity for employees, improve public access, and reduce the risk of falling victim to outdated technology.

    Provide a list of the day to day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate:
    The candidate will be assisting with DTF modernization and finding alternative options/solutions for existing e-MPIRE imaging systems, utilizing various technologies such as .NET and/or C#, application administration, AIX Shell Scripting on the UNIX platform and DB2 skills. The candidate will also be assisting with the multi-tier architecture design and implementations, participating in all phases of the software development life cycle- requirement gathering, design, implementation, testing, and production support.

    8:00am-4:30pm with 1/2 hour unpaid lunch

    After 4 months of full-time on-site, candidate may be eligible for up to 50% of remote work. Eligibility will be determined by supervisor, based on all accesses provided and candidate is able to work on their own.

    Position Mandatory Qualification (Per Attachment 7, Section 1.2.4)
    Position Job Title: Systems Architect
    Defines the architecture of a computerized system (i.e., a system composed of software and hardware) in order to fulfill certain requirement, including a breakdown of the system into components, the component interactions and interfaces (including with the environment, especially the user), and the technologies and resources to be used in the design.
    Position Skill Level: Expert
    84+ Months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.

    Position Requested Qualifications (Per Attachment 7, Section 1.2.5)

    • 84 months of experience supporting government organizations which includes business domain knowledge, technical design, application development, maintenance and end user support of complete Business-Related processing systems.
    • 84 months of experience in UNIX and AIX OS with usage of Shell Scripting, CRON TAB and DB2 databases.
    • 84 months of experience as Server Administrator, including deployment, administration and support of applications hosted on them
    • 48 months of experience with Visual Basic, .Net and/or C# application development and support
