SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Systems Programmer III DB2 for a remote opportunity working EST hours.Candidate will support the administration, performance, availability, and reliability of enterprise IBM DB2 for z/OS environments. The role will work closely with database, application, and infrastructure teams to maintain mission-critical systems, resolve production issues, and implement upgrades and system improvements.
Required Qualifications of the Systems Programmer III DB2:

- 4+ years of IT experience, including varied programming or systems-related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with IBM mainframe technologies, including DB2 and z/OS.
- Experience with SYSVIEW, Broadcom products, or other IBM/mainframe-related technologies.
- Strong analytical, logical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of database management, data storage concepts, and advanced programming techniques.
- Understanding of production system maintenance and the potential impact of software or infrastructure changes.
- Experience with systems software quality assurance, testing, implementation, and change-management practices.
- Ability to evaluate technical specifications for completeness and compatibility and learn new programming languages, utilities, and tools.
Preferred Skills/Experience of the Systems Programmer III DB2:
Experience supporting enterprise DB2 for z/OS environments, including subsystem administration, performance tuning, upgrades and migrations, disaster recovery, production troubleshooting, and data movement between environments.
Responsibilities of the Systems Programmer III DB2:
- Install, configure, maintain, and administer IBM DB2 for z/OS subsystems in an enterprise mainframe environment.
- Monitor and tune DB2 performance to improve system availability, stability, and resource utilization.
- Plan and execute DB2 maintenance, upgrades, migrations, and related systems changes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production incidents while supporting critical business applications.
- Support disaster recovery activities and facilitate data movement across development, testing, and production environments.
- Participate in a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule and collaborate with database administrators and technical teams on system improvements.
