Standard Job Description

Lockheed Martin seeks a highly experienced Integration & Test (I&T) Engineer to lead a team of I&T engineers through the full product lifecycle of avionics flight‑termination and telemetry systems-from early development, through verification and validation testing, to sustained operations and support. The incumbent will act as the technical authority for system readiness at key program milestones, interface directly with customers, and coordinate cross‑functional activities to ensure data‑product maturity and test readiness.

Leadership & Team Management

• Direct, mentor, and develop a team of Integration & Test Engineers.
• Define team processes, standards, and best practices for avionics I&T.
• Allocate resources and prioritize tasks to meet schedule and quality goals.

System Integration & Test Execution

• Oversee Package & component level testing for flight‑termination and telemetry subsystems.
• Develop and review test plans, procedures, and success criteria; ensure traceability to requirements and safety standards (e.g., DO‑178C, ARP‑4754A).
• Manage test data collection, analysis, and reporting; drive corrective actions when anomalies arise.

Program Milestone Readiness

• Serve as the primary "Readiness" owner for critical milestones (e.g., Critical Design Review, System Verification Review, Flight Readiness Review) related to I&T.
• Conduct readiness assessments, risk analyses, and mitigation planning.
• Present status and technical justification to program leadership and customers.

Customer Interaction & Communication

• Act as the senior technical point of contact for customers regarding integration, test results, and system performance.
• Prepare and deliver briefings, technical reports, and post‑test reviews.
• Incorporate customer feedback into test strategy and product improvement plans.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Systems Engineering, Software Development, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Quality, and Program Management to align requirements, designs, and test activities.
• Facilitate data‑product maturity through rigorous verification, validation, and documentation.

Travel & On‑Site Support

• Travel to multiple U.S. test sites (e.g., Florida, Georgia, D.C.) to support hardware setup, test execution, and troubleshooting.
• Provide on‑site technical leadership during flight‑termination and telemetry test campaigns.

Plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains solutions for the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems and/or systems. Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem. Reviews, evaluates and derives requirements for testability, develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems. Coordinates subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations. Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive subsystem and/or system level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance.

Basic Qualifications

Significant Experience with the following:

• Integrating a technical product line across multiple disciplines, and facilitating collaboration among stakeholders to drive project success
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical decisions.
• System trade studies, CONOPS, constraints and/or system modeling
• Requirements, Interface Correlation Document (IcD), or Interface Definition Document (IDD) development
• System integration, fault management, test and/or verification
• Test planning and execution with an understanding of all the interdependencies
• Familiarity with Range Safety standards and requirements.
• Excellent written and oral communication; proven ability to convey complex technical concepts to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Final Secret Security Clearance to start; the ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance
• Ability to travel to U.S. locations to support events as necessary. Up to 25%.

Desired Skills

• Contributed to the FBM program, Navy projects, or submarine‑related work (highly desired).
• Deep knowledge of avionics architecture, RF telemetry, command‑and‑control, and flight‑termination logic.
• Proficiency with test instrumentation (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition systems).
• Hands‑on experience with HIL/SIL test environments, real‑time simulators, and automated test frameworks.
• Communicated complex concepts, led reviews, and negotiated requirements.
• Developed and implemented electrical system architectures, selecting components and materials.
• Created and/or reviewed schematics, block diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
• Performed Integrated Master Scheduling development and/or Control Account Mananagement experience.
• Utilized MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
• Used requirement‑management tools such as DOORS or DOORS Next.
• Used MBSE tools such as CAMEO.
• Acted as a self‑starter, completing tasks with little to no direction.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00
