Job Title: Combat Vehicle Systems Integration and Test Engineer

Job Description

This role focuses on integrating, testing, and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems on advanced military vehicles and associated system integration benches. You will work closely with engineering teams and government stakeholders to identify issues, implement corrective measures, and ensure that vehicle platforms and C5ISR subsystems operate reliably and effectively in a lab and depot environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and primarily electrical issues on military vehicles, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Integrate and test electrical systems on combat vehicles, ensuring proper functionality, interoperability, and performance.
  • Work collaboratively with the engineering team to identify areas of concern, develop corrective measures, and repair faulty or broken components.
  • Coordinate logistics with government customers, including shipping, inventory management, and tracking of vehicle and lab assets.
  • Perform very light vehicle maintenance as needed, and support body modifications when vehicles are damaged, working with engineering to implement structural changes.
  • Identify, engineer, implement, and verify new designs and configurations for system integration benches, test racks, cables, harnesses, and related hardware to improve usability and maintainability.
  • Ensure that system integration benches are fully functional and accurately reflect the most current configurations to provide a reliable architecture for system software testing.
  • Troubleshoot errors or faults affecting system integration benches and develop practical solutions to restore proper operation.
  • Interface with other Army and Department of Defense program offices to understand how various C5ISR systems interoperate with each other and with the vehicle platform.
  • Provide responsive support and maintain a customer service mindset to assist system testers in executing tests efficiently and effectively.
  • Deliver electrical, mechanical, and software support for combat vehicle system bench planning, design, development, and execution.
  • Identify materials and components required for the lab and ensure they are procured and available for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Maintain configuration management of the lab, including updating drawings and documentation to accurately reflect current lab and bench configurations.
  • Coordinate with government personnel to plan, schedule, and execute system bench activities and test events.
  • Maintain current system bench configurations and assets, ensuring they remain aligned with the latest system and software baselines.
  • Develop and maintain a deep working familiarity with a variety of C5ISR and combat vehicle subsystems.
  • Set up vehicle and system test benches, execute test plans, and analyze results to validate system performance and identify issues.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints and electrical schematics during integration, troubleshooting, and modification activities.

Essential Skills

  • Strong experience with electrical wiring and electrical integration, including integrating various technologies onto vehicle platforms and verifying proper operation.
  • Hands-on integration testing experience, including setting up test benches, executing tests, and analyzing test results.
  • Demonstrated root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical issues that arise during testing and operation.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Experience with vehicle testing, including configuration of test benches and analysis of system performance.
  • Ability to identify, design, and implement system integration solutions for benches, test racks, cables, and harnesses.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with engineering teams and government stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with C5ISR systems and combat vehicle subsystems.
  • Exposure to military vehicle platforms and their electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience interfacing with Army or Department of Defense program offices or similar complex stakeholder environments.
  • Light vehicle maintenance or body shop work, particularly in modifying or repairing vehicle structures after damage.
  • Familiarity with configuration management practices, including maintaining and updating technical drawings and documentation.
  • Ability to support both electrical and mechanical aspects of system benches, as well as basic software-related activities.
  • Interest in contributing to cutting-edge military vehicle programs alongside engineering teams.
  • Motivation to grow within an organization that offers strong career path opportunities and bonus potential.
