Job Title: Systems Engineer Verification
Location: California
Employment Type: Contract W2
Duration: 1 Year, Possible Extensions
Rate: $42 $50/hr W2 (DOE)

About the Role

We are seeking a senior-level Systems Engineer to lead system-level verification activities for complex, regulated medical devices. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in requirements engineering, verification planning, traceability, test execution, and defect management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead system verification planning and execution for new product development and sustaining programs.
  • Develop verification plans, protocols, reports, test methods, and traceability matrices.
  • Analyze system requirements for completeness, consistency, and testability.
  • Execute system-level testing for functionality, performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Maintain traceability between stakeholder needs, requirements, risk controls, and verification evidence.
  • Lead defect investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective action verification.
  • Support design reviews, regulatory submissions, audits, design transfer, and sustaining activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 6 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience leading system-level verification for complex hardware/software products.
  • Strong experience with requirements engineering, verification planning, test design, traceability, and defect management.
  • Experience working in regulated product development; medical device experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with design controls, configuration management, change management, and quality systems.
  • Experience with DOORS, JIRA, or similar requirements/defect management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Class II or Class III medical device submissions.
  • Knowledge of IEC 62304, IEC 60601, ISO 14971, or similar standards.
  • Experience with embedded firmware, mobile applications, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, cloud services, cybersecurity, or automated system testing.
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, defense, or other regulated industries may be considered.
