Systems Engineer

As a Systems Engineer within the Propulsion Control Systems organization, part of the Engines & Power Systems business, you will play a key role in delivering solutions that support our customers while driving product excellence, operational efficiency, and business growth. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical challenges, support design changes, and contribute to the successful execution of engineering programs in a highly regulated aerospace environment.

As a Systems Engineer within the Propulsion Control Systems organization, part of the Engines & Power Systems business, you will play a key role in delivering solutions that support our customers while driving product excellence, operational efficiency, and business growth.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work on production and factory support for Electronic Control Units (ECUs), Auxiliary Power Units (APUs), and Cabin Pressure Systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical challenges, support design changes, and contribute to the successful execution of engineering programs in a highly regulated aerospace environment.

What You'll Do
Production & Factory Support
Investigate and resolve production support cases for aerospace control systems and electronic control units.
Develop and release Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to support design improvements and manufacturing needs.
Perform technical evaluations and substantiation of design changes related to production and factory support.
Collaborate with engineering teams to prioritize and distribute production support workloads.
Partner with Component Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Certification, Test Services, Configuration Management, and Data Management teams to drive issue resolution.

Design & Systems Integration
Review and maintain approved source list drawings and build-to-print documentation.
Ensure supplier designs and components comply with Client engineering standards and governing requirements.
Reconcile product-level requirements with customer and system-level requirements.
Support the integration of components into larger aerospace systems, understanding both individual component functionality and overall system performance.
Participate in configuration management and design revision activities, including obsolescence management and drawing updates.
Technical Communication & Program Coordination
Serve as a technical liaison with suppliers, customers, and project engineering teams.
Support program planning, scheduling, and milestone tracking at the component level.
Coordinate supplier deliverables and align schedules with program objectives.
Prepare technical correspondence, coordination memos, and responses to customer and supplier inquiries.
Contribute to engineering reviews, testing activities, and product support initiatives.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or possess other protected status due to U.S. Export Control regulations.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of systems engineering principles and the systems development lifecycle.
Understanding of aerospace electronics, control systems, sensors, actuators, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, or electromechanical products.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly.
Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional, and global teams.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
Adaptable to changing priorities and project requirements.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
