Overview:
Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer in support of Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology and Logistics’ (SOF AT&L) Program Executive Office for Tactical Information Systems (PEO-TIS) Integrated Sensor Systems.
PEO-TIS provides SOF with advanced, mission-ready capabilities as technical experts in ISR, tactical communications, and specialized collection and exploitation systems. Across its portfolio, PEO-TIS integrates and fields resilient sensors, biometrics, and forensic exploitation tools, remote and space-enabled capabilities, and secure communications that improve situational awareness, targeting, and over-the-horizon connectivity. The organization drives testing, training, and operational assessments to rapidly transition proven technologies into deployable capabilities that support SOF operations in contested environments.
This is a full-time opportunity located at MacDill AFB, FL
Responsibilities:
Provide multidisciplinary engineering work to determine the technical needs in the acquisition, development, and sustainment of systems.
Apply several diverse engineering practices, techniques, and processes to resolve difficult issues consistent with program objectives. Interpret engineering requirements into design characteristics and criteria.
Support the planning, analysis, and evaluation of engineering and technical efforts to define requirements, translate into design criteria, assess alternative design approaches, and develop system specifications.
Assist in determining the means to advance projects and evaluate significant modifications to production methods or materials due to changes in requirements, technological advances, or shortcomings.
Develop evaluations and technical justifications of feasibility. analyze and study performance requirements against a wide range of diverse considerations.
Assist in the evaluation of technology, components, and systems by developing evaluation criteria, performing evaluations, and documenting results.
Qualifications:
Minimum Experience:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS w/SCI eligibility Education: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline Years of Experience: 11 years of system engineering and integration experience, including:
Skill in evaluating state-of-the-art scientific and environmental/engineering technologies and incorporating them into the planning, design, operation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade of applicable systems.
Ability to direct and coordinate engineering and maintenance programs, and inform the development of criteria for specialized critical system design
Plan, develop, and implement procedures for review of acquisition programs and military engineering programs. Direct engineering sufficiency review of these programs until turnover.
Strategic level of technical knowledge/ability of Space
Preferred Qualifications: Education: Master's Degree in an engineering discipline Years of Experience: Minimum of 7 years of engineering and integration experience
Additional Experience:
Strategic level of technical knowledge/ability of Space
Knowledge/experience with the TENCAP organizational structure and execution of the Military Exploitation of Reconnaissance and Intelligence Technology process.
