Systems Engineer

Summary:
As a Systems Engineer, you will work as the engineering interface between L8 Autonomous hauling application teams and L6 base machine systems teams. You will be responsible for autonomy hardware and software solution integration with base machine systems.
 
Responsibilities

• Collaborate with systems teams to ensure that software and hardware designs are delivered on time, including requirements development and documentation, test and validation support, and some procurement support activities.
• Work closely with Autonomy Systems integration engineers to ensure the product architecture requirements are fulfilled.
• Work with Technical program managers and Application Architects to ensure that program requirements are being met (time, cost, quality).
• Ensure that Base machine software changes are delivered on time for command for hauling releases, including NPI and CPI solutions depending on the state of the program.
• Support Field data collection kits activities, including design support, procurement, shipping to site, and data collection.
• Document architecture specifications, software design description, verification plans, test cases, operating procedures, and safety procedures.
• Assist in the verification and validation process, including supporting/troubleshooting hardware in the loop and proving ground test and development.
• Participate in the design and development of application software and algorithms for robotic platforms.

 
Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience.
• Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
• Software Development Life Cycle: Extensive experience with structured methodologies for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products.
• Software Product Testing: Extensive experience in designing, planning, and executing testing strategies to ensure software product quality and adherence to requirements.
• Application Development Tools: Extensive experience in utilizing various tools and toolkits for developing applications.
• Artificial Intelligence: Working knowledge of AI concepts and methodologies, with the ability to develop, implement, and apply AI products and services.
• Programming: Extensive experience in testing, writing, designing, debugging, troubleshooting, and maintaining source codes and computer programs.

• Technical Troubleshooting: Extensive experience in anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical issues on hardware, software, applications, or operations.

• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
• Problem-solving skills with knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems.
• Technical knowledge.

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $46.00 - $47.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
