Description

SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Air Force's next-generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system acquisition - the Sentinel Program. Our customer is the Sentinel Program Office located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. This is a great opportunity for systems engineers in the early stages of their careers to enhance their skills while contributing to one of the Department of War's most critical acquisition programs. The position requires a proactive professional able to take on defined responsibilities independently and collaborate across technical teams to achieve program goals.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with ensuring the Prime contractor's deliverables, including mechanical drawings, meet program requirements through methodical reviews.
  • Support the preparation and execution of Major Milestone Design Reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR).
  • Perform data collection, analysis, and reporting to aid in program decisions.
  • Contribute to requirements management and traceability efforts using tools like DOORS to maintain the system''s technical baseline.
  • Participate in model updates and analysis using MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo, Rhapsody) under guidance from senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with technical and project teams to address system verification activities and manage minor tasks independently with oversight.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics with 2+ years of engineering experience
  • Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • Hands-on experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and workflows (e.g., Cameo, Rhapsody).
  • Basic experience in requirements tracking and systems engineering processes, including requirements traceability using DOORS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in verification and validation efforts for complex engineering systems.
  • Familiarity with technical milestone review processes and government decision points.
  • Experience with systems engineering and Agile tools (DOORS, JIRA, Confluence).
