Systems Engineer (Windows Server & Virtualization) to fulfill an immediate full-time vacancy.
This position is a Full-Time, Direct Hire position that sits onsite in southeastern, AL.
Day to Day Responsibilities:- Administer and support a hybrid Windows Server environment, including patching, monitoring, alert resolution, and ticket work in a monitoring platform
- Oversee backup operations: confirm jobs complete, investigate failures, and run periodic restore tests to validate recoverability
- Drive data center projects, including consolidating physical servers into a virtualized platform and rolling out a new hypervisor
- Automate recurring tasks with PowerShell, using AI tools to speed up scripting
- Support server-side integration of newly acquired companies, including travel of roughly one week per month at most
- Work alongside the security and networking teams on hardening and cross-functional troubleshooting, and keep documentation current
Position Requirements:- 35 years of hands-on Windows Server administration, with strong working knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
- Working experience with virtualization (VMware preferred) beyond a basic level
- Exposure to enterprise backup and recovery tools (Rubrik, Veeam, or similar)
- Solid troubleshooting skills and the technical depth to answer infrastructure questions confidently
- A positive, team-first attitude with direct communication skills and a drive to build a long-term career in a growing company
- Willingness to work onsite five days a week and travel periodically
- Preferred: Nutanix, Microsoft 365/SharePoint, hybrid cloud experience, and familiarity with security frameworks such as CMMC or NIST 800-171
