We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Systems Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance Traffic Management Systems for clients across North America.

In this role, you will serve as a technical expert, providing operational support, troubleshooting complex system issues, and ensuring the reliability of critical transportation technology platforms. Job Details

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as a primary technical resource for Traffic Management System support and customer issue resolution.
  • Respond to support requests through the ticketing system and support hotline.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, communications, and network issues related to traffic management platforms and ITS devices.
  • Configure and maintain Traffic Signals, PTZ Cameras, Dynamic Message Signs (DMS), traffic detectors, and other ITS technologies.
  • Manage incidents according to client-specific Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and ensure timely resolution.
  • Train agency personnel on our systems, products, and software features.
  • Document system architecture, configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Support system backups, disaster recovery, and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Software Engineers, QA teams, Database Administrators, and customer stakeholders.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation supporting 24/7 transportation operations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend technical solutions that enhance system performance and reliability.

Your Experience and Knowledge (Required Qualifications):

  • 3+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • Experience supporting ITS technologies, traffic signals, traffic management systems, or related transportation technologies.
  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments, networking concepts, and system administration.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, communications, and network issues.
  • Experience with VPNs, remote access tools, and database administration.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Jasper Reports, Traffic Management Data Dictionary (TMDD), GraphQL, SOAP, or REST APIs.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies, configuration management, and change control processes.
  • Experience supporting complex, mission-critical environments operating 24x7x365.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
