Job Title: Systems Engineer 4

Location: El Segundo, CA

Salary Range: $85 - $90/hour

Introduction

Join our Defense, Space and Security sector as a Systems Engineer specializing in Microelectronics. Work on cutting-edge space-based communication systems for commercial, civil, and national security programs. Be part of a dynamic team that collaborates with domestic and international customers on the latest satellite systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered)

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Experience in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) / Digital Communications algorithms and techniques.
  • 3 years of experience with Matlab or Simulink.
  • 5 years of experience in core digital communications and signal processing theory.
  • 3 years of experience in systems engineering (requirements definition, allocation, verification, architecture design, and trade design).
  • 1 year of experience working with FPGAs or ASICs.
  • Must have previous client experience working for this customer in the past 5 years.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications (Nice-to-have skills but are not required)

  • Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscope, waveform generator, spectrum analyzer).
  • Experience leading teams of engineers.
  • 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities (key tasks and expectations for the role)

  • Design and develop next-generation RF and digital satellite communication systems.
  • Develop and verify multi-rate fixed-point signal processing algorithms.
  • Conduct performance analysis of signal processing models.
  • Perform waveform development and characterization.
  • Conduct trade studies and support integration and testing of payloads and spacecraft from unit level through in-orbit operations.
  • Support HDL-level design and verification and perform detailed system design and verification activities.
