Description

The Fountain Group is currently seeking a  for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Foster City, CA .  Details for the position are as follows:

Senior Specialist, Lab IT & Systems Support

Location: Foster City, CA
Pay Rate: $77.37/hr
Duration: 18 Months

Job Description

  • Serve as the primary operational liaison between Technical Development laboratories and IT partners.
  • Manage lifecycle activities for laboratory computers and instrument-connected workstations, including deployments, upgrades, replacements, and retirement.
  • Support laboratory instrument software, vendor applications, connectivity, and computer systems.
  • Maintain CMDB records and laboratory technology inventories.
  • Coordinate operating system updates, security patching, and compliance activities.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and instrument technology issues affecting laboratory operations.
  • Coordinate network port activations and infrastructure requests for laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Partner with LIS, Digital & Data, Facilities, Quality, enterprise IT, and instrument vendors to resolve laboratory technology issues.
  • Support laboratory expansions, relocations, renovations, and startup activities.
  • Lead or support laboratory technology projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain laboratory technology documentation, standards, and support procedures.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience supporting laboratory computing environments, laboratory systems, or scientific instrumentation.
  • Experience supporting laboratory computers and instrument-connected workstations.
  • Experience with laboratory instrument software, vendor applications, and instrument connectivity.
  • Experience with CMDB systems and laboratory technology asset inventories.
  • Experience coordinating OS upgrades, security patching, and IT compliance activities.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting of laboratory hardware, software, network, and instrument-connected systems.
  • Experience coordinating network infrastructure requests and network port activations for laboratory equipment.
  • Experience supporting research, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or regulated laboratory environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience coordinating laboratory technology deployments, replacements, upgrades, and system retirement.
  • Experience partnering with instrument vendors and enterprise IT organizations.
  • Experience supporting laboratory expansions, relocations, renovations, or facility startup activities.
  • Experience with laboratory technology projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience developing laboratory IT support procedures, technical documentation, and operational standards.
