Job Summary:

Responsible for providing senior server and applications expertise to the District Technology team. Installs, configures, and maintains all servers (physical and virtual) and storage based devices within the Districts Windows/VMWare network infrastructure. Provide system administration for file, print, AD, DNS, DHCP, and application servers in a multi-platform environment. Serves as the lead of the desktop support team for advanced technical issues pertaining to desktops, servers, databases, and related software/hardware. Responsible for providing problem diagnosis, resolution, or escalation as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree in an accredited technology/network administration program plus five years experience providing multi-platform advanced support in a large environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience to total nine years.
  • Experience with the following: Microsoft Active Directory and Entra environments, Windows Server environment, SAN technologies, backup products and procedures, IP address management, Network Security

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Azure AD, Microsoft Entra, Windows Hello, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Nutanix/VMware, certifications preferred
  • Familiarity with Identity Automation's Rapid Identity tool

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages the maintenance and security of all servers and applications across the network providing reliable, high availability services, and optimizing server infrastructure to achieve high performance and cost-efficiencies for virtual and non-virtual systems. Serves as administrator of all Nutanix, VMware, vSphere, and ESXi systems.
  • Works collaboratively with the District desktop support team to ensure that desktop image issues are promptly addressed, documented and resolved in a timely and professional manner consistent with the highest customer service and professional / technical standards. Documents imaging processes and provides training as needed to help desk personnel in the areas in desktop imaging and general troubleshooting tasks.
  • Manage the District's Entra and Active Directory environments; including multiple authentication systems, support identity automation, manage cloud applications servers and services, as well as using PowerShell to script changes and automate procedures.
  • Perform maintenance, updates and upgrades on District physical and virtual Nutanix/Vmware servers and associated hardware/software. Configure access rights, and security for the Districts multi-platform server network; Establishes network performance criteria. Maintains the infrastructure of the AD Forest, DHCP/DNS, IP Printing, Database and SAN.
  • Designs and deploys, in collaboration with other technology staff, all District backup and storage systems, providing advanced support and training as needed to ensure mission-critical data
  • Leads the desktop support team in creating, testing, and deploying application packages and base images for workstations across the District. is being backed up in accordance with district policy.
  • Serves as one of the Google domain super admins and collaborates with other super admins to ensure proper synchronization of systems (AD and Google).
  • Serves as a member of the technology department's leadership team . Attends meetings as required and communicates status, accomplishments, needs, etc.
  • Perform upgrades, patch management, and maintenance. Develop internal documentation for key systems and services.
  • Provide and identify one on one support to other technology staff as needed.
