Location: Newington, CT - on site

Position Summary:
We’re hiring a skilled Systems Administrator to manage and support a hybrid infrastructure spanning Unix/Linux and Windows environments. You’ll ensure systems are secure, reliable, and high-performing while working closely with internal teams to align IT operations with business goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support Windows servers as well as Linux/Unix in both cloud and on-prem environments

  • Apply system updates, patches, and configuration changes for performance and compliance

  • Administer core infrastructure tools (AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, NFS, SSH, etc.)

  • Monitor system health, analyze logs, and troubleshoot complex technical issues

  • Automate processes using Bash, PowerShell, or Python to boost operational efficiency

  • Enforce security best practices and assist in vulnerability remediation

  • Manage access controls and identity systems

  • Create and test backup and disaster recovery plans

  • Keep detailed documentation and support junior team members as needed

Requirements:
  • 3–5 years of experience in both Unix/Linux and Windows system administration
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Solid understanding of server OS (e.g., Windows Server 2016–2022, Red Hat, Ubuntu)

  • Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (AWS, Azure)

  • Skilled in scripting and automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python)

  • Familiarity with container tools like Docker and Kubernetes

  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancing)

  • Experience with ITIL frameworks and methodologies

  • Certifications such as RHCSA, Azure Administrator, or similar are preferred
