APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Work collaboratively with various disciplines including Industrial Design, operations, and cross-functional engineering teams. Brainstorm concepts and solutions to a wide variety of complex engineering problems. Develop, prototype, evaluate, and troubleshoot new designs. Lead design reviews and contributing to peer design reviews. Present work for cross-functional teams and executives. Generate detailed specifications and drawings. Communicate with internal manufacturing teams and external vendors to optimize designs for function, cosmetics, and manufacturability. Conduct failure analysis and design of experiments (DOEs) to determine root cause and implementing corrective actions. Validate and characterize designs through multiple iterations. Develop deep technical knowledge by taking design from concept to production. Ensure that designs meet cosmetic and functional requirements to provide best-in-class hardware for our customers. International travel required 15%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $173,540 - $225,300/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Experience and/or education must include:

Designing parts using various manufacturing methods including injection molding, machining, stamping, or casting. Producing 2D design drawings and documentation for testing and inspection. Creating processes and fixtures for assembling products in factory for development and ramp of future products Experience with various technologies such as acoustics, sensing and their system integration and development Analysis of mechanical parts for reliability performance to improve product quality and cost Performing failure analysis of issues especially for system parts for design iteration and development of future products Experience with CAD design tools to design parts in collaborative engineering environmentN/A
