    Description

At Audible, we believe stories have the power to transform lives. It's why we work with some of the world's leading creators to produce and share audio storytelling with our millions of global listeners. We are dreamers and inventors who come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences to empower and inspire each other. Imagine your future with us.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

Every great audiobook starts with a voice, and behind every voice is an author, a narrator, and a publisher who deserve to be paid accurately and on time. At Audible, that story comes to life on our Workday platform, where payments are just one part of a much bigger picture. Employees submit expenses, supplier invoices flow through Accounts Payable, customer billing moves through Accounts Receivable, projects are tracked from kickoff to close, and assets are managed across their lifecycle, each transaction a page in the story that has to be right.

As a System Development Engineer on Audible"s Workday team, you will help write the next chapter: building world-class Workday integrations, including real-time, event-driven integrations that keep finance data flowing the moment it changes. You will craft Workday Orchestrations, Extend applications, and Prism Analytics, shape business processes across Revenue and Resource Management, and connect Expenses, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Projects, and Assets, helping Finance close the books with confidence. Join us and help build the platform that makes sure every storyteller gets paid.

    ABOUT THE TEAM

The Workday team is part of Audible"s FinTech organization. We own Audible"s Workday Finance platform: integrations, configuration and operational excellence for Expenses, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Projects, Assets, revenue management, vendor payments and integrations with Internal financial systems.

Our tenets: Financial Data Integrity (every transaction accurate, reconciled and audit-ready), Seamless Vendor Payments (optimize every step of accounts payable), Keep Vendor Experience in Mind, and Build for the Long Term.

As a System Development Engineer, you will...

    • Build real-time and batch Workday integrations, including event-driven and API-based flows
    • Design, build and maintain Workday integrations using EIB, Workday Studio, Core Connectors and Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST)
    • Build Workday Orchestrations, Workday Extend applications and Prism Analytics data sets and reports to automate finance processes and deliver insights
    • Configure and support Workday Financials: business processes, security groups, calculated fields, custom reports and reports-as-a-service
    • Own Workday Revenue and Resource Management flows across Expenses, Accounts Payable (supplier invoices, supplier payments, credit notes, settlement runs, remittances), Accounts Receivable, Projects, Assets and revenue
    • Support the financial close process with accurate, timely data, reconciliations and reporting
    • Support vendor payments (ACH, wire, FX) and keep vendor tax and banking data in sync between Workday and connected systems
    • Plan and test Workday"s semi-annual feature releases and tenant changes, and manage changes safely from sandbox to production
    • Own operational excellence for the Workday tenant: integration monitoring, runbooks, on-call support and root-cause fixes so issues do not recur
    • Ensure every transaction is reconciled, traceable and compliant with financial controls and audit requirements
    • Partner with Finance, Accounting and HR stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions end to end
    • Use AI-assisted tools to speed up integration development, testing and operations

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
