Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Systems Deployment Engineer to configure, deploy, and support Linux-based infrastructure within industrial and energy environments. This position will work hands-on with Linux servers, VMware environments, deployment automation, and supporting software while collaborating closely with SCADA, Controls, and other engineering teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include accessing and configuring servers through SSH and remote management tools, preparing system environments, deploying scripts and Ansible playbooks, installing required software, completing technical documentation, troubleshooting systems, and supporting project validation activities. The ideal candidate has a strong Linux foundation, practical VMware experience, and an interest in working with the technologies that support operational and industrial systems.
Required Skills:
" 3 5+ years of relevant systems engineering, Linux administration, or infrastructure experience
" Strong Linux systems administration experience
" Hands-on VMware experience
" Experience configuring and troubleshooting server environments
" Experience working through SSH and command-line/terminal environments
" Experience deploying scripts, software, and system configurations
" Experience with Ansible and Ansible playbooks
" Understanding of networking and system connectivity
" Ability to create and maintain technical documentation
" Ability to work onsite in Alpharetta, GA approximately 3 days per week
" Humble, team-oriented approach
Bonus/Soft Skills:
" Experience within energy, utilities, power generation, industrial automation, or similar operational technology environments
" Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as DNP3, MQTT, and Modbus
" Proxmox experience
" Experience working alongside SCADA or Controls engineering teams
" Spanish/bilingual capabilities are a plus but not required
" Highly collaborative and comfortable working across engineering teams
" Eager to learn and take on new technologies" Self-motivated with a go-getter mentality
" Willing to roll up your sleeves and troubleshoot hands-on
