System Associate Medical Director, Heart Failure Program

Atlantic Health is seeking a visionary Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to serve as System Associate Medical Director, Heart Failure Program. This physician leader will oversee system-wide heart failure strategy, clinical operations, quality initiatives, research, and education across Atlantic Health. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of advanced heart failure care within a nationally recognized cardiovascular institute and integrated health system. This position is located at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center.

Atlantic Health Morristown's Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, housed within the 200-bed Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute, is a leader in cardiovascular care in New Jersey and offers a full spectrum of cardiovascular services. We offer excellent clinical, academic, and clinical research opportunities as well as the opportunity to help establish the vision for a heart failure program that oversees care at each of Atlantic Health's hospitals and coordinates outpatient care through Atlantic Medical Group's large multispecialty practice.

Position Highlights

  • Lead and grow advanced heart failure and mechanical circulatory support programs, including LVAD services
  • Provide oversight of inpatient and outpatient heart failure programs across the health system
  • Develop standardized care pathways and drive improvements in quality metrics, readmissions, mortality, length of stay, and transitions of care
  • Collaborate with cardiology, cardiac surgery, hospital medicine, and advanced practice providers to optimize patient outcomes
  • Participate in the AHS Shock Program and oversee advanced heart failure clinical operations
  • Expand regional referral networks and strengthen relationships with external heart failure and transplant programs
  • Lead heart failure research initiatives, including clinical trials, publications, presentations, and fellow research mentorship
  • Oversee heart failure education for cardiology fellows and provide CME programming for physicians and staff
  • Represent the program through national presentations, professional society involvement, and academic leadership activities

Salary Range: $500,000-$750,000 base salary only; excludes any quality and/or productivity incentives
