System Assessment Senior Systems Engineer
Contingent upon prime contractor approval
Purpose:
Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a System Assessment Senior Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL working in the Missile Defense Agencys (MDA) System Assessment Directorate. In this role your work crosses engineering, ground test, flight test, and Missile Defense System element programs (e.g. Weapons Systems, Sensors)
Job Description:
Develop and communicate assessment requirements for Ground and HWIL Testing to evaluate MDS capabilities and functional performance
Coordinate with MDA, non-MDA partners, and COCOM stakeholders to plan strategic ground tests and ensure operationally realistic scenarios
Collaborate with Assessment and Analysis engineers to define technical data needs and provide evidence for system fielding decisions
Work with the Threat Management Center to establish threat requirements that enable high-fidelity modeling and simulation
Track and integrate element software deliveries to support ground test readiness and event execution
Plan, schedule, and synchronize element participation with the Test Group to ensure seamless test integration
Participate in engineering milestones such as EIPRs, Warfighter Academics, and MDRs to validate technical accuracy and system readiness
Identify system design considerations, assess risk areas, and recommend mitigation strategies to leadership
Lead or support Technical Interchange Meetings, coordinate actions, and maintain issue and watch-item tracking
Prepare executive-level briefings, technical papers, and formal correspondence for senior leaders, including Flag and SES personnel
Participate in high-level reviews and deliver reporting products that document assessment gaps, limitations, and technical progress
Represent the Government customer in IPTs, working groups, and senior technical forums to ensure alignment with MDA objectives.
Qualifications:
Must have Bachelors Degree in STEM field (Engineering, Math or Science) at least12 years of relevant systems engineering or technical experience for missile defense related programs.
Must have understanding of MDA systems engineering processes and procedures
Must demonstrate understanding of system architecture and HWIL framework
Must have experience with MDA system elements (e.g., Patriot, THAAD, Aegis, C2BMC)
Must have familiarity with secure development practices, configuration management, etc.
Must have the ability to operate independently and communicate effectively across diverse technical teams
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced / short-timeline environment
Must have the proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project)
Must be skilled in developing and delivering technical briefings to senior decision-makers
Desired Qualifications:
Preferred background that includes system engineering practices.
Understanding of MDA engineering processes and procedures preferred.
Master''s degree in STEM preferred.
Security Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen and possess an Active DoW Secret Clearance.
Top Secret clearance and SCI eligible preferred.
Travel Requirements:
Travel, to include international locations, may be required. Occasional travel up to 10%.
