Position Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically skilled System Assembler to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for the mechanical and final assembly of our laser systems, including loading assemblies into system chassis, routing and connecting wiring, installing plumbing and related components, and completing cosmetic preparation (“doll-up”) to ensure each unit meets Sciton’s high standards for quality and presentation before shipment to customers worldwide. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with mechanical assembly experience who takes pride in craftsmanship and understands the importance of precision, quality, and following detailed work instructions in a regulated manufacturing environment. In this role, you will: - Perform mechanical and final assembly of medical laser systems, including loading and securing assemblies into system chassis.
- Install and assemble mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and external system components according to specifications and work instructions.
- Route, connect, and secure wiring and cables to ensure proper system configuration and organization.
- Install and route tubing, plumbing, fittings, and related components as required.
- Use hand tools and other assembly equipment to install, adjust, and secure components.
- Perform final assembly tasks including installation of cosmetic covers, labels, panels, and external components.
- Clean, polish, and detail finished products to ensure a pristine, customer-ready appearance (“doll-up”).
- Inspect completed assemblies for proper fit, alignment, routing, connections, cosmetic quality, and overall completeness.
- Accurately follow assembly instructions, drawings, work orders, bills of materials, and production documentation.
- Perform rework, adjustments, or component replacement as needed to meet quality and performance standards.
- Verify packaging integrity and securely package completed systems for shipment, ensuring protection during transportation.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Shipping teams to resolve assembly issues and meet production schedules.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate issues or discrepancies to appropriate team members.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
- Follow all safety procedures and quality requirements applicable to a regulated manufacturing environment.
Essential Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ years of hands-on mechanical assembly, manufacturing, equipment assembly, or related experience.
- Experience working with mechanical assemblies, chassis, wiring, tubing, plumbing, fittings, or similar components.
- Ability to read and accurately follow work instructions, assembly drawings, schematics, bills of materials, and production documentation.
- Comfortable using hand tools and performing detailed mechanical assembly with precision.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic assembly issues.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assembly tasks while meeting production deadlines.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining consistent quality and attention to detail.
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, such as medical device, aerospace, electronics, or other precision manufacturing, is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $22 - $25/hourly. The final offer will be based on factors such as relevant experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive market-based salary, Sciton provides an opportunity to participate in equity/stock incentive programs, a profit-sharing bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package, including 401K with matching.
