At APV, we Always Provide Value POSITION SUMMARY Seeking a mission-driven System Architect to set the technical direction for a large-scale federal health care platform that manages value-based care models end to end. This role will define current-state and target-state architecture across an AWS cloud environment, enterprise integrations, APIs, and a Snowflake, Databricks, and Tableau analytics stack, and will be the technical authority the team and the government both turn to. The System Architect will support a large-scale federal healthcare technology program. This role provides technical leadership across cloud architecture, enterprise integrations, APIs, data platforms, identity and access management, modernization initiatives, cybersecurity, and enterprise system design. This role operates on a SAFe Agile Release Train with Program Increment (PI) planning. DUTIES Lead development of current-state and target-state system architectures supporting enterprise applications, cloud platforms, integrations, analytics environments, and user-facing services.Define architecture standards, technical roadmaps, integration patterns, API strategies, and modernization approaches for complex federal technology environments.Design secure, scalable, resilient architectures supporting cloud-native solutions, microservices, enterprise integration, data management, and identity and access management capabilities.Collaborate with program leadership, engineering teams, security personnel, data specialists, DevSecOps teams, and user experience teams to ensure technical alignment across products and services.Support enterprise system integrations, data exchange mechanisms, APIs, interoperability requirements, and shared-service strategies.Ensure architectures align with federal security, privacy, accessibility, resiliency, and enterprise architecture standards.Provide technical leadership for cloud modernization, environment optimization, scalability planning, and technology innovation initiatives.Support Agile delivery, DevSecOps practices, technical reviews, proposal activities, oral presentations, transition planning, and architecture governance activities.Support Agile delivery, DevSecOps practices, technical design reviews, transition planning, and architecture governance activities.Define target-state architecture and a modernization roadmap for a cloud-native platform, balancing resiliency, scalability, security, and cost.Architect system-to-system integrations and data exchanges with upstream federal systems, including one-way model data transfers and near-real-time data shares from an enterprise data repository.Align designs to federal security, privacy, accessibility, and enterprise architecture requirements, including agency technical reference architecture and ATO boundary considerations.Drive AWS cost and performance optimization as an explicit architectural objective, not a downstream cleanup activity.Set architecture standards, conduct design reviews, and mentor engineers so that decisions are documented, repeatable, and defensible. EDUCATION Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 8 years of relevant IT/system engineering experience, including at least 5 years designing enterprise or large-scale system architectures.Demonstrated expertise in enterprise and cloud architecture, APIs, system integration, microservices, data architecture, identity and access management, scalability, resiliency, and secure system design.Ability to develop current-state and target-state architectures, architecture standards, technical roadmaps, and integration patterns.Familiarity with applicable federal security, privacy, accessibility, and enterprise architecture requirements.Must be able to obtain and maintain a High-Risk Public Trust or equivalent federal client access. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AWS/Azure cloud architect certification or comparable architecture certification.Hands-on experience with AWS-native services, API and event-driven integration patterns, Snowflake or comparable cloud data platforms, and federal health or ATO-governed environments is strongly preferred.
