Description

IT Systems Administrator

About the Opportunity

Our client is a fast-growing, value-based healthcare company delivering in-home and virtual care to families across Louisiana and beyond. This is an early-stage environment, which means broad ownership, quick shifts in priority, and the chance to shape how technology supports frontline care rather than inheriting a fully built function. The person in this seat should be comfortable working independently, asking for help when a gap shows up, and giving and taking direct feedback.

Position Overview

This role owns the end-user technology experience for the company's Louisiana operations. It is the primary in-person presence for the New Orleans office and surrounding sites, covering hardware, connectivity, and device setup, while also providing remote, multi-tier support to staff across every market. The goal over time is to reduce repetitive ticket volume through automation and self-service so that hands-on time can go to work that genuinely needs someone physically present. Although the position is anchored in Louisiana, it supports the full distributed workforce and helps set standards that apply company-wide.

Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site technical contact for the New Orleans office and nearby locations, handling equipment, network connectivity, staging, and repairs that cannot be resolved remotely.
  • Deliver remote support at multiple tiers to employees regardless of location, presenting the underlying mix of vendors and tools as a single, well-run platform to the end user.
  • Manage the full identity lifecycle, from onboarding through role changes to offboarding, within Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
  • Handle device management, patching, and fleet health using Intune and RMM tooling, and maintain asset inventory and lifecycle tracking across the company.
  • Build automation that lets the environment grow without a matching rise in manual effort, using PowerShell, Power Automate, or AI-assisted workflows to script, deflect, or convert recurring requests into self-service.
  • Move the team away from manual ticket triage toward context-aware routing and a Notion knowledge base that resolves common issues before they reach IT.
  • Enforce endpoint security and compliance, including passwordless and phishing-resistant sign-in with passkeys and FIDO, Conditional Access, least-privilege access, and device compliance policies.
  • Support the SOC 2 program alongside the Security and Compliance function, contributing to audits, evidence collection, and remediation.
  • Own the accuracy and upkeep of IT documentation for the Louisiana domain so it stays reliable for both staff and AI-based retrieval.

Technical Environment

The environment spans Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and Windows, macOS, and iOS endpoints, with NinjaOne for RMM, a Notion knowledge base, Slack-based intake, and governed AI use under an internal tiered policy. The stack is partway through modernization, so some tools will be operated as-is, some retired, and some newly stood up. The company currently runs on Salesforce while building toward an owned application platform, and interest in helping with that transition is welcome.

Required Qualifications

  • Five to seven years in internal, customer-facing IT operations; healthcare experience strongly preferred.
  • Two or more years of system administration across Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, Intune (compliance, configuration profiles, and application deployment), and Windows, macOS, and iOS support.
  • Three or more years of hands-on work with help desk and RMM tooling.
  • Demonstrated scripting and automation with PowerShell, Power Automate, or comparable tools to scale a growing end-user environment, plus practical experience with governed AI and AI-assisted support.
  • Strong endpoint management skills, sound networking fundamentals, and a track record supporting hybrid and distributed teams, paired with a genuine customer-service mindset.
  • Residence in the New Orleans metro area (Orleans or Jefferson Parish) with the ability to be on-site at the New Orleans office at least once a week.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comfort operating in an early-stage, hands-on setting where ambiguity and change are constant.
  • Background in virtual or mobile healthcare delivery, including support for Athena EHR.
  • Salesforce administration or support experience, with interest in the shift toward an owned application platform.
  • Familiarity with modern endpoint and RMM tooling (NinjaOne) and Zero Trust architectures.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Endpoint Administrator, CompTIA A+ or Network+, and ITIL Foundation.
